His statement showed liabilities amounting to £11,11)1. and assets amounting to £3,357. The Official Assignee issued a warrant for the arrest of Baker on a charge of failing to keep proper books. Accused was brought before the magistrate to-dav and remanded for seven dnvs. Hail'was allowed in the sum of £•>()(> At a meeting of creditors linker admitted that he had not kept hooks, and that he did not know how to keep them. COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Christchurch. Last Night. | Christopher Isaac Dcnby, «-fitationmaster at Lcesloa and Waikan, has hee-n- committed for trial on a charge ot stealing a lady's blue costume ami a quantity of blue cloth, valued at £5 10s <)d consigned by Ballantyme- and Co. to ■Mrs. Cook, of Lincoln. Bail was allowed ■i-,1 one surety of £IOO.
