QUEENSLAND LOAN. London, March 12. Queensland is issuing a two and a half millions 3% per cent. loan. Received 14, 4.30 p.m. London, March 13. The Queensland loan has been issued at 97, and underwritten on the usual terms. The prospectus will be issued on Monday. WOOL SALES. London, March 12. The lead imports total 19)210 tons, including 7823 tons from Australia. The exports totalled 3638 tons'. Wool—The keenest competition is being made, and highest rates are maintained. . The wool sales included the Gear clip, which brought 7%d, R.S. over T. !)d, Whana 10'/ B d, Otairi 9%d. and Akitio 10% d. HAWERA STOCK MARKET.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co. report:— At Opunake, on Monday, Bth inst., we had a fair yarding of cattle and several lots of ewes and lambs, prices being about on a par with previous sales. We sold on account of the Public Trustee three sections under the West Coast (Settlement Reserves Act, the prices obtained fcjr the upset rentals being satisfactory.
At jlanaia, on. Tuesday, only a medium yarding of cattle came forward. There was a moderate demand, and moat lot* found buyers. At Hawera, on Wednesday, we held our supplementary sheep fair. There was an exceptional yarding, the advertised number coming forward. There was a good demand for quality, prices being in advance of late quotations. With the exception of a few lines of old ewes, everything found purchasers either at the hammer or by private treaty. We quote: At Opunake: Fat cows £4 to £4 ss, forward cows £3 to £3 10s, store cows £2 to £2 15s, 18-month steers 37s to £2 2s 6d, 18-month heifers 31e, ewes 8s 3d to 3s 3d, lambs 5s 6d. ilanaia: Pat cows £4 to £4 4s, forward do. £3 to £3 125,'18-nionth heifers in calf: £2, fat sheep lis, lambs 4s 61 Pigs: Porker's 15s to 18s 6d, stores 7s 6d to 10s.' |

HIDE AND SKIN REPORT. Dalgety and Co.. Ltd., Wellington, report having held their fortnightly sale of skins, hides and tallow on Friday, when they offered a large catalogue oi all classes to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was keen throughout the sale. Sheepskins—Prices for better sorts showed an advance of about '/id; fi ne crossbred 6'/id to 7 J / 4 d, coarse, 5%d to Od; crossbred short s>/ 4 d to 6d; crossbred dead 4%d to S'/id; crossbred double fleece sd; black 3>/ 4 d; merino 5d to 5%d; merino dead 4d; pelts 4%d to sd; pelts damaged l'/ a d to 2d; lambs' 4d to 5%d; lambs' salted Is lOd to 3s 9d; pelts salted Is 9d to 2s 9d. Wool—We held a supplementary wool sale, which was the fifth of the season. The total offerings from all brokers amounted to 1891 bales, of which we contributed 951 and sold 803. There was a representative attendance of buyers from all parts, and competition was animated throughout the sale. Practically no good wool was offering, but medium, erossbreds brought from par to >4d per lb in advance of February rates. Lamfe' wool was slightly easier. Pieces of all descriptions also showed an advance on the last sale rates.
