ADDIXGTOX STOCK MARKETS. Christchurch. Wednesday. At Addington yards to-day there were large entries of stock and a good attendance: Prices generally showed a decline, beef being lower oil account of a vtry large, yarding of store cattle. Sheep were easier all round bv about Is per head, and fat lambs showed a reduction of fully (id per head. Fat sheep declined lid to Is per head, and s'ore cattle were dull of sale, but dairv ~u\vs were in good demand. The railge of (prices was its follow.-,:
'Prime wethers 14s Ud to Ills Ud, extra to 17s sd, lighter 12s !kl to 14s; prime ewes lis Ud to 12s Ud, others Us to lis. The, entry of fat cattle totalled ,120 head, a large proportion being again cows and lieifers. The bidding was not so brisk in, conscciueiicc of a larger yarding, and prices were rather easier. Steers made £5 7s Ud to £lO 17s Ud. heifers £4 Lis to £8 12s Ud, cows £4 to- '£7 7s Od—equal to 21s (id to 22s (M lor best, medium 18s lid to 21s. and cow and inferior Ids Ud to 18s per lOUib. There was a good yarding of store cattle, both in •numbers and quality, but the demand was poor, and most of the lots were passed. A line of .ill three and fouryear steers was sold privately at £7. Dairy cows were in brisk demand, prices ranging from £3 10s to £lO ss.
T'iie yarding of pigs was a fairly large one, and all classes showed a decline, especially fat sorts, which were down about 10s per head from last week. Choppers made £3 15s, large baconers Wis to Uss, lighter 48s to 55s—equal to 4'/..d per lb; large porkers 42s to 48s, smaller 32s to 40s;eqtial to sy»d per lb; large stores 38s to 40s, medium 27s to 335, weauers 14s (id to 21s.
' HURNSIDE STOCK MARKET. Duncdiu, Wednesday. At Buriwde stock sales 2330 sheep nore yarded, a number much in exeess of requirements. The entry was made up chielly of medium and inferior quality ewes, which were slow of sale even at prices from 2s to 2s Gd under those obtained last week. Medium wethers buffered to the extent of Is lid to 2s per head. Best wethers and ewes were in
short supply, and-werc keenly competed I for, selling at prices slightly easier thai | last week's. About COO sheep were passed in unsold. Quotations: Best wethers las lid to 17s, extra 17s Cd to IDs, medium 13s (id to 14s !)d, light and inferior lis to 13s; best, p.wes lis lid to 13s, extra 10s to 17.-, medium 7s lid to 1 hV>. light and inferior Is to "is. Lambs: 1800 yarded, an exceptionally big yarding, the quality being good. Prices were a shade easier. Quotations: Best lambs 12s to 13s, medium lis to 12s 9d, light and inferior 8s Gd to IDs. Pigs: 120 yarded. There was a fair yarding of small pigs. The line harvesting weather kept many buyers from attending, and the sale was consequently dull, prices going down. Fat pigs met with a brisk sale, and prices in this line wore a little firmer. Quotations: Suckers 10s to J2s, slips 14s to 19s, stores IDs to 2Ss, porkers 35s to 40s. light baeoiiers 45ii lo 555. Iheavy 58s to 00s. Cattle: Owing to over-supply prices receded to the extent of 10s to 15s per head.

Cattle: At the Newmarket .yards on Tuesday eattle of all descriptions were yarded in full numbers. Dairy cows sold 'at from ill 10s to .CS 12* Od, empty cows .CI ITs to C 3 ss, calves 17s to CI, !Js. The beef pells were well tilled with eattle of nice quality, although mostly light weights. Prices showed no improvement. We licld our monthly sale at l'ap.ikura on Wednesday. There was a good muster of stock, but. owing no doubt to the dry weather recently experience .1, prices were somewhat easier.
