SOUTHLAND DISQUALIFICATIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invcrcargill. La*t Night.
-V k'tter was received to-day by the .SoiitUland Rugby Union from the New Zealand Rugby Union intimating that it had been derided to expel those players in Southland who last season took part iu the Northern Union game. A special meeting of the S.R.F.U. committee win held in the evening to consider the question and it was decided, to write to the New Zealand Union vigorously protesting against the expulsion of the players. Jt was also decided to ask the .ruling body why the matter bad not htjrii dealt with sooner, the names of the men concerned having bee-.i forwarded to headquarter* live months ago.
