SHIPPING AND SEAMEN'S ACT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. To-night's Gazette announces that the Shipping aud Seamen's Act of 1008 has received the Royal Assent. I The season for deer-shooting in districts mimed is lixcd as follows:—Otago I April Ist to May Bth; Ilawke's Bay, March 20th to April 30th; Wairarapa, April Ist to May 115 th; Waitaki, April Ist to May 31st, Hares cease to come under the provisions of the Animals Pro-1 lection Act in the Otago district as from March 4th.
