The remainder of Ihe Learners sail by tlie .Stievic. It is understood that the receipts just covered the bare expenses. THE STAR CLUB. THOUGHTFUL APPRECIATION. Tho Star Football Club yesterday made recognition of tlie invaluable services rendered to its members for many years past by Mr. and Mrs. F. Richards, oi the Avenue road, who are leaving shortly on a visit t<j England. Mr*. Dockrill, as president of (he Star Club's committee of ladies, had arranged an afternoon tea at the Jlurlington roonw, and several of the committee and the I ollicers of the club attended. Mr. E. Dockrill, president of tlie elub, addressing Mr. and .Mrs. Richards, said he had been asked to say farewell, oil behalf of the club, to two of its esteemed members who were re-visiting the land of their birth. Mrs. Richards hail not confined her efforts to the "Stars.' either, but whether it was the hospital, the volunteers, the fire brigade, thu spurts grounds, or the Garrison Hand, she was always a. willing worker, ever ready to assist ill any function for the well-being of our local institutions. the Star Club desired to show its appreciation of her services, and asked her to accept, a line travelling rug, bearing her initials, "M.R." in (lie club's colors, black and- gold. Mr. Dockrill coneluiliMl by wishing Mr. and Mrs. Richards a pleasant voyage, an enjoyable. sojourn in the Old Country, and a sate return. Mr. A. L. Humphries, club captain, made a short speech appreciative of the efforts of their guests, and joined in the good wishes. Mrs. Richards replied, expressing tlie hope that, 'they "would come; back to again help the clul), and Mr. Richards trusted to hear this season that the Stars were the clmiupiou team of the province.
