BISHOP NELIGAN.
TU VISIT TALiANAJU ARCHDEACONRY. The Right Rev. Dr. Xeligau. Anglican liishop of Auckland, who recently returned from his visit to hnglamlj resumes his duties by visiting Taranaki Archdeaconry this month. It was his intention to visit this part ot the diocese earlier, and the various clergy have •been preparing candidates for ordination | oii that basis', but the unfortunate accident to the Tongariro upset all the arrangements contemplated, laraiiaki, however, will be the iirst district visited, i and the bishop will be here on -March 27th. His lirst engagement is a confirmation service at \\aitara (the Ke\. :Mr. Rrocklehurst's parish), oil that day. On the following day the bishop has a full programme at St. Mary's Church, New Plymouth, lie will celebrate Holy Communion there at 8 a.ro., mid administer confirmation to a large number of candidates, young people and adults, at the, II o'clock service. Iu the afternoon, at !t o'clock, he will perform the ceremony of unveiling the hatchments raised in the church to the memory ,of three corps. In the evening Dr. Neligan will preach at the church. On the following day the bishop will administer confirmation to a 'number of Maori candidates in the parish church of Oka to (the Rev. nudenbrooke's parish), the hour fixed being 10 a.m. In the evening the bishop will deliver a lecture on the Pan-Anglican Congress, which he attended while in England. The work done at this congres-s of representatives of the Anglican Church in all parts of the world is of intense importance to all adherents of the Church of England, and the dVects from it may be observed already in the changes contemplated in the formulas of the Church. IJishop Xeligau took a very active part iu the Congress, and his account of its work, therefore, \% of especially great value. The lecture will be delivered iu St. Mary's Hall, and . will be prepared with lantern slides 1 especially prepared for the occasion. On 1 Tuesday', the 30th inst., the bishop pro--1 cceds to Stratford (the Rev. Eavell s parish), where he will hold a coniirma- ' tion service. lie leaves for Auckland on the same evening. The visit is ncces--1 sarilv brief on account of the delay aiready caused in the bishop's programme of visits throughout .the diocese by the Tongariro accident.
