NEW ZEALAND MARATHON KAUIO

The New Zealand .Marathon raco from llowick to Auckland, a distance of la miles, run under tile auspices of the Auckland Amateur Athletic flub, was decided here yesterday in the hottest ol weather. The event created tremendous interest, and should do ninth to revive amateur athletics in Auckland. Of the forty-two liominiitcil, tl slarted, mti-iU-l ing -\I. Dickson and li. \V. Mianahan ((Jhristchiirch), M. .Muicaliy and !■' Wilton (Wellington), S. \V." .Moore (|!akaia), W. Keay (liallnrat, Victoria), and W, Wilsliaw (.Manchester, England). The road was dusty and had loose stones scattered about, and the presence of numerous vehicles made the running unpleasant.
