TAHANAIiI COMPANY'* REPORT.
At tile usual meeting of the directors of the Taranaki Petroleum Company, on Friday night, the manager made the following report:—• 6 " Sincu the last report, 1 have, taken the pump out of No. 2 and thoroughly cleaned the well out, and now have the pump to the bottom of the well, with the intention of pumping from the bottom instead of from 1180 feet as formerly, with the expectation of increasing the quantity of the oil. I anticpate being in a position to resume pumping on Monday. I have also been carrying out the instructions of the directors in regard to temporarily closing down No, 3 bore, with a view of resuming operations at No. 1 bore."
llr. C. Carter was elected to fill the vacancy on the Board, caused by the retirement of Mr. M. J Jones.
E lIADLEY COMPANY. It is reported that at the E. Hartley Company's bore there are encouraging "indications." There is not milch gas in the bore, hut oil shows between tho different streaks in the formation.
