A telegram From Parengarcnga. in the north of Auckland, states that the ship Forrest Hall was wrecked mi Saturday morning <»u the \Ve>t Coast, about -0 , miles south-east of Cape Maria Van Diemau, near the !e Arai blulV. The spot where the ship came ashore is a somewhat lonely part of the coast. Thn residents of Parengnrejiga, on the East Coast, do not seem to have been aware of the wreck until Me iu the day. 1 The ship was 071 her way to Chilian ports from Newcastle loaded with about
300 tons of coal. She had been twentyone days out from her port of departure and apparently had been blown out of i her course considerably, as she should I have passed to the north of the Thr?e
About !>.30,. a.m. the vessel weut ashore and all 0:1 board were able io reach the bench in safely. But it is | leaved' that the heavy sens which come in un the West Coast will break the ship up before any rc-iloaling operations can be attempted. The Forrest Hall is- an iron fullrigged .ship of 2032 tons register, and was built by W. H. Potter and Son, at Liverpool, in 1868, and is registered 100 A 1 at Lloyds.
