NEWTON KINO'S REPORT. At the Haywarket on Saturday there t was only, a small entry of pigs. I'oung sheep were well competed for, but old ewes wore hard to quit except at low rates. Two-tooth ewes made 10s 4d to 13s Id, 4 and 0-loolh p.b. At Pohokura on Wednesday, 24th | inst., 1 held my annual sheep fair, when between 8000* and 9000 sheep were penned. There was a large attendance of buyers from all round. Competition for young sheep was good throughout, i all being sold at the hammer. Older | classes of sheep were in poor demand. Prices were about the same as late sales. Calves made from 9s Od to 12s Od, 18-iuoiitlhs mixed £1 5s to £1 9s Od, 18-inonths steers £1 18s, 2'/ 3 to 3-year steers £2 18s Od to £2 19s Od, slore cows £1 10s to £1 Us, fat cows £3 14s to £3 18s Od.

At the Tarata sheep fair on Monday | there were over 4000 sheep penned, a | large proportion of which were sold at the hammer or privately at the following prices:—Two-tooth ewes lis 5d to 12s, 2-tooth wethers 8s 9d to 10s 7d, 4-tooth ewes Ss 3d to 10s Od, f.ra. ewes os Od to 7s Od, old ewes 2s Od to 4s, shorn lambs 3s 8d to Os 2d, Lincoln rams £1 Is to £1 Us Od, liomuey rams £2 12s Od, cull rams 7s Od to 10s Od. AVe intend holding a supplementary fair at Tarata, the date of which will bo advertised in next issue. AUCKLAND STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report:— Horses.—On Friday, at the .Durham yards, horses were yarded in'average numbers. Heavy draughts sold at from £2l 15s to £32; medium do., £lB 10s to £29; light harness horses aud hacks, £7 10s to £22 10s; weeds, £2 10s to £0 ss. We held a special sale of horses at Puk'ekohe on Thursday, when 205 were yarded. Heavy draughts sold at from . £23 to £35 10s; medium do., £2O to £2B; hacks, £l2 10s to £2l; useful sorts, suitable for milk carts and light harness. £l7 to £23 10s; cobs, £5 15s to £lO 15s; ponies, £3 to £5 10s. Cattle.—Al the Newmarket yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were yarded in usual numbers. Dairy cows sold at from £4 10s to £8 10s;*euipty cows, £1 15s to £3 2s Od; calves, 15s to £l 7s. There was a full yarding of beef, -which sold at scarcely rate rates, oxen selling to 21s per 1001b and cows 15s lo ISs. Steers, £5 5s to £9 12s Od; cows. £3 10s to £O. Sheep.—The Newmarket yards were well filled on Tuesday, sheep of all descriptions selling al scarcely last week's rates. Wethers sold at from 10s to 10s 3d; ewes, 9s to 13s 3d; lambs, 10s Od to 12s lid; hoggets, 10s to 13s Od. Pigs. bncOiicrs. £1 18s to £2 Us; weaners, 6s Od to 10s.

At Waiuku on Saturday there was an average muster, which sold at late rates. Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to .CO ss; heifers, £3 to 15 12s Oil; empty cows, ,£•> 5s to ,13 2s Od; calves, 14s to £1 3s; two to three-year-old steers, £2 Is to £5 2s; yearlings, fl 15s to £2 -ts; beef at Newmarket rates. We submitted a large catalogue of hides, skins, and tallow on Tuesday, all lines meeting with keen competition. Hides.—Market advanced. We quote: Extra stout ox 7d to 7%i1. stout do O'/jd to o%d, medium do. 3%d to Od, light do. 5d to s'/ 2 d; cows', best lines "id to o'/,il. good 4%d to <l%d, scored •i'/jd to 4%d; kips 4d to sd, stags' 3%d to -Hid, damaged hides 2'/.d to 4 1 / l d, calfskins 3d to 5%i1. Sheepskins.—.Market lirui. Best butchers' skins, large 5s to 5s Od, medium 4s to 4s Od, small 3s to 3s Od. Tallow.—Market firm. Best mixed to 235, good 23s to 23s Od, inferior 17s 6d to 21s Od, rough fat l'/id to l%d per lb. CIHUSTCHURGH STOCK MARKET. Al Addiiigton live stock market there were again good entries of stock and a large attendance. 4 The store sheep pens were again filled With a large entry. One of the principal sales of ewes was of a draft of fullmouthed sheep from the Cashmere estate, crossbreds making 17s 6d and halfbreils 17s lOd. Small two-tooths made 15s Od, and two and four-tooth ewes 17s sd. Medium lambs made lis Od to 12s, forward sorts 12s 3d to 12s 9d, and low-tonditioned and travel-stained 0s to 10s 6d. Forward wethers, of which there were so/no good lots offered, made 13s Od to 14s od, medium 12s to 13s 4d, and low-conditioned 0s to lis 7(1. There was an entry of 5407 fat lambs. The export buyers have reduced their limits for lambs between 301b and 401b, the. rates over all at the works now being—up to 301b, i'/.H; 361b to 421b, 4%d; and for over 421b and second quality, 4d per lb. There were 3077 taken for freezing at 13s to 15s 7d, 381 being butchers' at 13s 7(1 to 14s lOd, and a few extra to 17s Od, and 1201 were passed in. The yarding of fat sheep was about equal to last week in point of numbers, ewes again forming a considerable porI tion of the entry. There was a further I fall in prices, ewes showing the most decline, being lower by Is Od to 2s per head. Wethers were cheaper by about Is per head. There was a little'bidding by exporters, but few were secured ior the works. The range of prices was: Prime butchers' 15s Od to ISs 3d, lighter 13s 2d to 15s, prime ewes 12s to 14s Id, extra to 10s, others 0s to lis Gil, merino wethers 10s 3d to 10s Oil.

There were 271 fat cattle entered, and they were mostly useful sorts. Steers made £7 5s to £ll 2s (id, heifers £5 to £!), and cows £4 10s to £o—equal to 22s to 23s 0.1 for prime, 10s to 21s 6d for medium, 17s to 18s Cd for eow and inferior, per 1001b.

Aa average yarding of veal calves Bold at 4s lid to UOs, according to size and quality. There was a fair yarding of store cattle, fifteen to 18-uiontba madu 45s to 47s (id, two year steers £3 to £3 10s, two-year-heifers £3 17s Od for good sorts, three-year steers i's lis, Uirccvear heifers £-1 3s, and dry cows 20s to £3 10s. for duiry cows there was luudiuiu io good demand, and they sold at £3 15s to £8 15s. Tlierc was a medium entry of fat jogs, and they sold at last week's prices, and a fair yarding of stores showed a slight improvement. Choppers sold up to .14 os, heavy Imeoners 05s to ills, lighter 48s to 5Js (equal to Oil per lb), largo porkers -12s to 48s, and smaller Ms to ■Mis (equal to lid jut Hi), large stores .Vis to 425, medium 28s Io Ills, good weaners 17s to 20s, ami small 12s lid lo . Sheep.-1375 Yarded. The sale ojiened with prices slightly behind last week, and later on prices dropped Is lid per head. Best wethers l(Ss to 17s lid, extra up to 10s 3d, medium 14s to 15s, inferior and light lis lo I3s tid, best ewes 14s to 15s, medium 12s to 13s, inferior Os to lis.

Lambs.—l2oo yarded. Lambs sold at easier rales, freezing buyers not operating. There was a. big yarding. The best prices were Us to 13s (Id, extra 13a medium 10s lid to lis tid.

Pigs.—3o yarded. Only a couple of p«is of suckers and the same number of stores were forward. Prices were on a par with last day's sales—suckers up to Ids fid, slips up to 20s, fat jiigs £i 10s.

JOHNSONVILLE SALE. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Jolinsonville sale as follows:—A fair entry of both sheep and cattle met with a good demand at late rates, making from 20s to 21s per 1001b. Best bullocks, £8 12s fid to £0 2s (id; lighter, ;C7 15s to £8 2s (id; light, .I'd 10s to £H 15s; wethers, 12s (id to 13s; maiden ewes, 13s; ewes, 12s to 12s sd; lambs, 10s 3d. lis lOd, to 12s lOd.
