Captain B. G. Bell has assumed command of the Rotoiti, vice Captain Aidwell, who has Been appointed to the Te iaau, which has taken up the running of" the ill-fated Penguin. Captain W. F. Norbury, the popular master of the Rarawa, is now thoroughly convalescent, after his recent severe illness. Be will resume control of the Barawa neat Sunday. It is reported that the Northern C rjipanv intend to cease running the \\ aitaruji between Waitara and Onehunga, as she is unsuitable for the trade. It is proposed to replace her with the auxiliary 6cow Albatross, of very I'ght draught, and capable of carrying about 80 tons. , ... The collier Rosamond is due nere this morning from Greymouth, via Onehunga, with '4OO tons of <ooal. After discharging she sails for Westport. ' The Takapuna brought 70 tons o't cargo from South yesterday morning, including 50 cases of kerosene, 50 sacks of salt, fl® boxes of candles, and a quantity of hardware and general groceries. The Rotoiti brought 21 tons of cargo from Onehunga yesterday morning. This included 145 bags of sugar, 05 bags of potatoes, 43 cases of jam, and 137 cases Of fruit.
