CONTEMPT OF COURT.
A SOLICITOR ARRESTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Mr. W. E. Haeke.tt, solicitor, who w» fined £5 by Mr. W. W. Dyer, S.M., on February Dtli for contempt of court (in declining to sit down in Court when requested by the Magistrate to do so) was arrested by the. police this afternoon for not having paid the line. Mr. Haekett was examined 1 for any distinguishing marks, and had his weight and height taken, besides being required to deliver up the contents of his pockets. At this stago a itelephone mewage was received, stating that the Auckland I*w Institute would pay the fine, The fine vpas paid and Mr. Hkckett was released. It is understood that the Auckland branch of the Law Society is investigating the matter.
