SPORTS AT OAONUI.
(From Our Own Correspondent). The Oaonui Sports were held on Wednesday in Mr. Jas. Young's paddock, and proved most successful. The weather, though threatening, remained dine, and the attendance was very good, .114 5s being taken al the gate. The fields in most of the events were very law and some close finishes resulted. The officials all worked very well, and even-thing passu! oil' very smoothly. Mr. *A. V. Sims as secretary, left notion!* to be desi-.cd. The calf-guessing icalised £6 10: whilst the booth, which wrfs run for the Hub by Mrs. Jas. Young and the Jlisse* Cook, was very well patronised, and should add considerablv to the revenue. The Opunakc Band, under Bandmaster Bishop, enlivened the proceedings with a splendid .programme of music. In the evening a ball wa,s held and proved very successful.
