Castiglione led for most of the distance. • Before reaching the straight Sandstream drew away from the field, and was not afterwards headed, wiuniug easily .by three lengths. Time, lmin 55 3-ssee. Kumeroa Hack Handicap, of 75 sovs., five furlongs—Genuine I, Swallow 2, Hylaulic 3, Scratched: Waioriki, Lucretius, and t'ontour. This race was a bit of a surprise, Genuine won by a short head. Time, lmin. 21-ssec. Shorts Handicap, of 100 sovs., five furlongs—Vi 1, Kareroa, 2, Lochiela 3. Also started: Ton Tuhi, Golden Gate and Lothair. Vi won the race by half a length, lit the excellent time of lmin lsec.

Hack Scurry, of ,65sovs—Waimarimarie 1, Kimmerian 2, Valentine 3. Scratched: Beloma, Happy New Year and Leolanter. Won by a neck. Time, lmin 2 2-sscc. Maharahara Handicap—Silken Rein 1. Morrie Zealand 2, Rangihaeta 3. Won comfortably by a length Time, lmin 44 l-ssec.
