AN AUSTRALIAN WRECK.
ALL HANDS SAFE. Sydney, February !6. Wilson's Promontory reports that the steamer Lady Mildred Went ashore near the promontory at midnight, during a dense fog. All hands are. safe. The vessel is full of water. The Lady Mildred had a curgo of 3500 tons of Newcastle coal. Owing to the dense fog she was going dead slow, taking soundings for a considerable time before the mishap. The crew escaped by the boats during the night. 'Wilson's Promontory is the southernmost point oi Victoria and of Australia, The Uady Mildred, 2180 tons, is a steel screw steamer, built in 1902 by the Blvth (Shipbuilding Company, Ltd., Blyth, and owned iby the Lombard Steamship Company.
