AUCKLAND WOOL BALKS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland. T.-wl Night. Over 1700 bales were offered at the •third ainil final wool sale of the season 'to-day. Contrary to expectation, there ■was good competition, local buyers hid■dijig freely, and taking a fair share of the offerings. Prices for .medium cross■bred rajiged! from lid to 7V 2 d. hnlf-lir»d and line crossbred up to S%d, which was top price; eoat'sp crossbred s'/»d to W/..A: lambs' f>VA to 7 "! sl ' |, ' l . v l am,)S '' not wanted; stained and bush wools. 5d to s'/ 2 d!: nellie* and pieces 3d to 4'/ 2 d. "Butter competition than the January sales wa-s noticeable, for stained and hush wools, prices being from '/id to '/~d better. Bellies and pieces also were rather better. Higher grade wool was about the .same value as in January.
