NfiATUIi. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A dauco inaugurated by the employees of the Ngaire Cheese Intt'tovy eventuated on Wednesday evening lust, and proved very successful aft'air. Visitors were present from all parts of the district., i\:u\ apparently spent an enjoyable time. A very creditable exhibition of the sailor's hornpipe was given by Messrs S.- and \Y. Oooding, for which they were deservedly applauded. Supper wns handed round, and the dance concluded somewhere about two o'clock, everyone eomliinentiug the committee and especially the lion. sec v Maries. Tho school-children were rather unfortunate in the choice of day fur their excursion to Ugaire on Friilny lasl. fur it fame on to rain very lieavily shortly after arriving there, anil really .spoiled tliei day's enjoyment. T have every reason to believe it will give .satisfaction, judging from tho remarks I have heard from the manager, Mr, Kenyon, who seems very pleased with it.
