News received from Samoa by the TVisco mail steamer Tweedale shows 'jthat the unrest recently reported among .the Samoan natives was promptly dealt with by the Governor, who met Lautai, ringleader of the disturbance, with the Tesult that misunderstandings were cleared away. Lautai asked for pardon, and was sent back to Savai. ' At a meeting held subsequently the Samoan ehiefs endorsed the action taken by the (Governor, but it is 'not certain that |the trouble has been finally settled.
