BOXING.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch. bist Night. I The council of the -Vow Zealand lio.ving Association decided to-night lo reinstate A. E. Passinorc. Ucgardinj; an alteratio-,i by the referee of liis decision in the match Kane v. Smith, for the professional middleweight championship of the Dominion, il was decided that the referee's tirst decision declaring the match a draw stand. Affiliated associations are to he circularised and asked to forbid seconds blowing water into the faces of contestants at boxing matches. The .inulinl meeting of the council will be held on May 7th. A sub-committee reported 11) urging that school authorities be asked to add boxing to the branches of athletics already followed in order to lead to the establishment of inter-schools championships; (2) advising local associations to consider the question of the prizes for professional contests: a".id (31 suggesting that the rules should be altered lo provide for the abolition of the centre system of Government. A copy of the report will be supplied to the alliliat'-d associations.
