Eight wickets were clown [or f>S win j Orchard and Bennett became associated, but they soon changed the complexion of the game. When Bennett was disposed of for 2S the score stood at 108, and Orchard and Boxshall carried it 2011 bofore the latter was bowled. Both these batsmen played freely, Orchard especially givins a fine display. When the total was' 121 Boxshall gilve a chance which was Tiot accepted and later on a chance off Orchard was missed. When stumps were drawn Otago ha'l lost live wickets for 50— Hopkins (10) and Watson (13) being the only batsmen to make a stand.
