SENIOR GRADE. i CARRINGTON ROAD v. WANDERERS i The above teams met on the Sports < Ground yesterday in splendid weather, and 2a good game resulted, victory eventually resting with Carringtonßoa'd by 21 runs. The suburban team won the toss and batted first, compiling 104 runs. Wallace (54) was the main"contributor, getting his runs by splendid play. He had a "life" at 5 when he was caught at the wicket, but no one appealed for the catch. Hill secured the whole ten wickets at the small cost oi 31 runs. We congratulate him on his splendid trundling. Wanderers were disposed of for 83 runs. Whittle (10) McLaren (14) and Goss- (13) were the top scorers. Benbow (six for 20) again kept up his consistent bowling. The Carrington Road fielding was superior to that of the Wanderers. Scores:— CARRINGTON ROAD. JUNIOR GRADE MOW PLYMOUTH v. INGLEWOOD. The town team were only aide In muster seven men for their match witli Inglewood yesterday, but rather than forfeit, they decided to travel to the country town and play the match. Inglewood sent Xcw Plymouth in to bat, and when six wickets were down for 44, allowed them the services of four local men, but all were out three rims later. Osborne (15) and Cook (10) batted well fur their runs. Inglewood made an inglorious start, Morey securing a wicket with his. lirst ball, and soon after five were down for 1.3. Orbell (8) and Frank Thompson carried the total to 2!) before OrbeU's wicket was down. Thompson (23) and Thomas (32 not out) helped to carry the total to 88. Thompson was missed badly twice before making 10. Xew Plymouth in their second strike made 39—Cook (15), Morey (17) and Berg (5). Inglewood thun won by an innings and two runs.
