Hindquarters are . ■ quoted at 3%d, and forequarters at 2%d. ■ Butter.—The market is steady, with fair business doing. Current quotations are: Choieest New Zealand Ills, Danish 118s, Australian 107s, Argentine 107s, Siberian 102s. Cheese.—The market is firm. There is better demand for white makes, which are quoted at 60s; colored, owing to a short supply, are B2s. Hemp.— The market continues dull. Current quotations are: Good fair grade on spot £24 Ids, fair grudte on spot £22 10s, fair current Manila on spot £23 H)s, January-March shipments of good fair grade £24, fair grade £22, fair current Manila .£22 10s. Last merits Manila output amounted to 2l!,008 bales. The stock held in London ' is 238 tons.

The New Zealand Loan aad Mercantile Agency Company's sheep fair, held ' ■ in Hawera on Friday, last, was probably ' the most suocessful held in the district. There was a good attendance of district farmers, and outside buyers were also v;> )vell represented. .Practically every Hue s was disposed of at prices, quite up to vendors' expectations. There was a good enquiry for young breeding ewes. About tweßl were purchased to go to the South Island, and 500 for Auckland; two-tooth 1 Lincoln ewes brought up to 13s Gd, Romj, neys to 13s; two and four-tooth wethers ■ ' realised 10s 8d to lis Gd, and' sounds'. ■. mouthed ewes fit for breeding 8s lid to lj 10b, 3d; woolly lambs brought 89 Gd to ' - 9s 6d, ami shorn lambs tis 8d to 7s lid. k. £ WAVERLEY RAM FAIR.
D&lgety and Co., Ltd., held their first ; Wflverlcy ram fair on Tuesday, 2nd i inst., when they offered over 1000 rains. There was a good attendance.
