HARBOR BOARD ELECTIONS
NEW PLYMOUTH. The election of a member for the i'.lthain ward of tlie Sew Plymouth Haibor Board took place yesterday, and created a good deal of interest. The candidates were Mr .1. Marx (the sitting member) and Mr. A. Wilkinson. The latter was returned by a substantial maioritv. Following is tlie voting:- - ' ' M. W. Wanganui, Last Nig'it. Consideralile interest was taken in the Harbor Hoard election to-day. There were two tickets, tli* present members of tin; Hoard adhering to tlie existing scheme of harbor improvement, while a new party advocated tlie cutting of a channel through the south spit. The result of the poll was the return of the old members by good majorities.
