ELECTRICAL ENGINEER'S REPORT.

Mr. H. Black) electrical engineer, reports:— All the construction work authorised has now been completed, with the exception of the transformer room in Ariki Street. This we expect to take in hand shortly, but now ; tliat our line staff has been reduced, most of the time is taken up with connections and the necessary work of looking after existing lines. The street lamp shades have now been in use for three years and require attention. These are being brougnt in and cleaned and painted. The new metal filament lamps are growing in favour, and, as the uiguts get lunger, may be expected to attract a large number of new consumers, although the fact that for our voltage (220) they are not yet obtainable i-a smaller sizes than 50 candle-power makes them more suitable for shop-'.than for private use.
