BURGLARS CAPTURED. By Telegraph.—rress Association. ' Wanganui, Jjast Night. An exciting incident oitmrred late on Friday night. As two young men, Anderson and Ifntrick, wire passing tho Economic, in the Avenue. they heard a noise. and on looking down a passage saw two men drop from a window into an alloy-way and make oliNn tho direction of St. Hill street. directions. When o'io (William Scott) was in front of the Opera Houses, he | threw nwny a package, mid immediately ; afterwards was captured anil taken io the police station. Snbset[i;rut search proved that, tho package which was 1 thrown away contained a stick of gcligi nite and soap. On Saturday a young mail named Albert Way was arrested on suspicion of being the other culprit Investigation proved that no harm had been done at the Economic, the burglars evidently having been flabbergasted at ■finding two safes and not knowing which to operate upon.
