BAND CONTEST.
WELLINGTON GARRISON'S GRIEVANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association Palmerston N., Last Night. A special meeting of the Executive of (he North Island ISrass Hand Association was held last night to consider the action of Wellington Garrison Hand in circularising bauds •competing in the Hasting., contest. Hill, to the -cere-' Ia ry of lla.-tings Contest Committee, embodying most of the grievances contained in the circular, and expressed the opinion thai Mr. Hill was at. the bottom of the trouble Lieutenant Herd, of the Wellington Band, slated that the matter had nothing to do with the Wellington Band not competing at Hastings. He himself was against the procedure adopted, and considered the matter should have been left to the annual meeting of the Association. Mr. linker (Wellington) considered the Wellington Rami had a grievance, and admitted Hie non-inclusion of Mr. Hill's name on the ballot paper ivas at the bottom of the trouble. After a lengthy discussion the following motion was carried: "That the Wellington Garrison Band 1„, raviled to slate their grievance in a. constitutional '"'"liner by moving at Hie annual meeting n. motion of want of confidence in !"■ executive, and that it be intimated foic 10th ehruary.'
