At the inquest to-dny on the body of Henry Bennett, of Preston's road, Slvx, the coroner returned a verdict that deceased had committed suicide while in a stale of unsound mind. The evidence .showed that deceased, who was a single man of about <H) years of age, after leaving two notes staling that a land transaction had driven him mad and lo intended to commit suicide, had drowned himself in a drain about three three feet wide and with two feet of water in it.
