REPORTED GOLD DISCOVERIES
IN THE UHEWERA COUNTRY. A PROSPECTOR'S REPORT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night, In reference to the report of gold being discovered in the Urewera country, Mr. W. Jennings, M.P., who is lit present in Wellington, has received a letter from a prospector ill that district who knows the country well, and \\\w has resided there over two years. The writer says: "1 am not doing much, indeed scarcely anything, here. 1 was asked by some of Te Run's people to go out to a place near Mungapohatu and see some -old. There are a few colours of gold to be seen on dishing oil', and I hayj brought in some quartz to assay niysell Unit beyond being licavily niineralisci 1 can see no gold."
