THE ENNERDALE ACCIDENT
OIIAItGE OF MISCONDUCT AGAINST THE (CAPTAIN. Melbourne, January 23. Tile Murine Court is holding an inquiry into a charge of misconduct against the enptain of the New Zealand steamer Euncrdnlc, arising out of the accident to the vessel on January 0. The captain claimed that she struck an uncharted rock. The Court was of opinion that the captain should have remained, on the bridge till the danger zone was passed, instead of leaving the second mate in charge of the vessel. In untravelled waters he should hara taken other precautions. As the Court, however, was not in a position to determine whether she struck a charted or uncharted obstruction. it gave the captain the benefit of a doubt and dismissed the charge against him.
