DEATH OF A WAR VETERAN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. The death occurred to-day at Poraitc, near Napier, of Captain Kcnrick James Hill, aged 79 years. Deceased, who was a well-known sheep fanner, served in the Crimean and New Zealand wars.

NOT DEAD. Dunedin, Last Night. Mary Donovan, who was convicted of vagrancy at Auckland, and who disappeared from the steamer while on the way down to Cliristchureh to enter tile Magilala Home there, was arrested ill Dunedin yesterday. It was supposed that she had committed suicide at the time, but doubts were raised, and as the result of inquiries she was arrested. She will appear at the Police Court on -Monday on n charge of vagrancy.
