Wellington, Thursday. A cable received from the High Commissioner in London dated January 20. states that the wool sales had 'commenced. Home and foreign buyers were large in. number. There was great .competition for all descriptions. Fine wool was very firm at December priced and medium ami coarse grades a halfpenny higher. LOCAL MARKETS.
