'He foreshadowed a loan for reprodu;tive works on the first favourable opportunity, and said that several measures before the Council at the time of dissolution of Parliament would he reintroduced in the programme of the Government. Tho (iovernmi ill's- programme includes electoral and land reform, including the compulsory purchase of large estates for settlement purposes; workers 1 compensation for accidents, Statu insurance, and the. establishment of a Government coalmine. l,f, after his visit to New Zealand, the Minister of Lands showed any easier or better road to an extensive productive land settlement, the Government would not hesitate to follow on the lines of the. Dominion.
