Makara stream, balance of cost to be charged to the road. It was also resolved—That application be made for a loan of 1100 for above purpose. The chairman was authorised to proceed with the work of the tunnel as soon as the settlers have signed the petition for the loan. Complaints were made concerning the spreading of metal. and upon the motion of Messrs. Corkill .-111(1 Young it was decided that the contract for met.iliiii.' the remainder of the Lincoln and ■thcr roads- contracts be let on condirequiring the contractor uierclv ro deliver the metal to the Hoard's emr.loycvs where they shall direct, the' ■Hoard undertaking the work of spreadill!!. It was resolved that the men receive twn shillings- extra while working in the tunnel on IScdford road.
