PAYMENT OF PLAYERS' EX.'S. [By Telegraph.—Press Association.— Copyright.] Received 1!), 0.55 p.m. London, January l'J. Tlie emergency sub-committee of the English Rugby Union lias informed the Scottish Union that the matter of payment of representative players' expenses must be referlved to a full committee; meanwhile, they intimate that three shillings will be allowed daily as petty expenses, which would not be incurred if the players were at home. The committee adds that the paynie.it is in nowise a source of profit; it merely saves the manager trouble in paying amall and legitimate items. The arbitrary cancellation of the interuatioiu.l ■fixture and the accusation of professionalism are questions for the International Board, which will be summoned as soon as practicable.
