PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting was held at Kahotii on Wednesday. Present: Messrs. .1. Young (chairman). R. Warner. M. Deegan. T.' Ilarvev and G. Tvlee Half-holiday —lt was decided that Wednesday lie the weekly half-holiday for shops' and offices within the Parihakn Road Hoard district. Kaweora Road.—As 11. Vickery has not oemmenced his contract, it was decided' that be be given Fourteen days' | notice in which to commence, and, weather permitting, the work to be done in la month. (Ilarvev—Warner). > Xgariki Road.—Resolved, that Moflilt and Siorwright be. given seven days' ' notice in which to commence their contract, otherwise their deposit will lie forfeited. (Ilarvev—Tylee). Ruakcre Road.-C. Wells wrote, asking for formation on road. Ucsolvcd, that, about 3'l chains lie formed, ■ Pungarehii Road -R Ived. that the road be formed and metalled when funds are available (Deegan-Young). Winter Maintenance.—Resolved, tint the Boards' stall curb, out stone for winter maintenance on Pnrihaka. Manihi. ■Warea and TV Xainu roads. Cpoka Road.-Resolvcd. that 70 yards of pit metal lie procured for patching. Public Trustee (Irani.-Messrs. Coups. i and Watson waited on the Board, ask- : iug tlkit the spending of £SOO be dclay- ! ' cd until the Trustee sees the country, as then, is a drier place to make the road along the Kaweora road. (Warner—Deegan). Lower Kahui Road.—Messrs. Hurra n ■ and A. Chapman wuited on the Board. , asking for attention to the road. They Were paying heavy rates, ami during the past ten rears they had put on 5110 yds of material. The' Board had only attended to tlieir part of the road once in ten, yoars.-Resolved, that the drains be cleared out on the road and patching done. Pigs.—Resolved, that owners of pigs be notified to keep pigs olf the roads, md the forinan report to the Board any damage done, and the owners be called upon to make the damaged parts good. Opouaraka Road.—Resolved, that the 10 per cent, be raised oil the Opouaraka road loan of £45(1. ! Lower Arawhata Road.—Resolved, Mint tenders be called for work up to till). (Tvlee—Young). Upper Paiihaka lload, Mr. Lysaght ' applied for work to lie done.—Foreman to report. : Bayly Road.-Mr. Burgess applied for repairing to the road.--Mr. Harvey said he understood the road was not getting all the rates due to it. as adjoining roads were getting part of ihein, and it was decided to go into the matter and get them correctly allocated, i Clerkship.—Tile clerk made application for an increase of his salary to :£2 2s per week on account of extra ■work.—Orantod. The chairman said Mr. O'Brien had proved himself a good clerk. It was decided that the clerk attend at the oflice at Rahotu every Tuesday and Thursday, and the third day be. at Opnnake.
