SUPPRESSION' OF PHTHISIS. Brisbane, January 13. At the Science Congress Dr. Umpston, of Perth, urged that strong measures should be taken to prevent the landing of phthisis cases. Since 1888 the decline in the death rate from the malady had been progressive and uniform in all States except West Australia.
