TENNIS TOURNAMENT.
OPENS TO-DAY. The following players to be on the ground ready to play this afternoon at I.M o'clock sharp:—Caplcn v. Jlrailsford, Uaukrodgcr v. Davie*, l\ C. Ambury v. ■Prater, Miss- Cave v. Miss Brewster, \\\ Lints v. Stanley Smith. The above matches will be followed by Jeimhigs v. Pearse, Miss Thomson ,v. Miss Ilurle, 11. Weston v. K. Matthews, Nicholson and Smith v. Leatham and Stocker, .Misses' McAllum and Piundle v. Miss V. Simpson and King. 11. A. Parker v. Or. L'ookes. Competitors can obtain their pusses from the gatekeeper at the Pmvderhamstreet gate. The .tournament starts at; 1.30 p.m. to-day, and will be continued on Friday and Saturday afternoon. Tea, etc., will be procurable at the ground. Parker will arrive from Auckland this morning, and will be engaged in matches during the afternoon. Warne Pearse, who t»\vo years ago defeated Dickie in a live-set match, mid is reported to be in good form this season, will also be ; i competitor to day.
