UNIONS DECLINE TO WITHDRAW PICKETS.
Sydney, January 13. The unions declined to withdraw .ickets, which withdrawal was required jy the Proprietary precedent to a conlerence being held with Judge Higgins. Broken Hill was quieter yesterday ilian for many daya. f The proceedings at tlie Trades Hall lacked enthusiasm.
A further trolley load of provisions was taken to the mine. A small crowd watched the proceedings ill silence. One man who called out an opprobrious name to the driver was arrested, but the onlookers made 110 attempt to rescue him.
