Their team was a particularly good one. in baiting especially, being, in fact, the .strongest in this respect the dub had put in the field this season, Carriugton Road were beaten by the splendid bowling of Seholelield' t and Fawcett, who got rid of the whole eleven for 21 runs. The wicket was on the slow side, but this did not contribute to the visitors' debacle. Urenui compiled 07, W. Fuller (SI) and W. Wilson (SO) being the chief seoreis. ROVERS v. WAITARA. The above teams met oa the Recreation Sports Ground yesterday. Owing to the late arrival of the Waitara team, which did not take the field until p.m., the match was left in an untinished state. Waitara 1 won the tuss and sent Rovers in to bat. was in excellent condition, but the outfield was very "dead.' 1 The batting of the Rovers' was even, no 'ducks'' being: registered. Williams (23), Weston (4-1), Price (1!>), Coppeu (17), and Arden (10) batted very well for their scores. ''Mr. Extras" was very useful, 28 being his score. P. Skelton (six for 54), bowled splendidly for Waitara, whose fieJdin# was only moderate.
