EXHORTATION TO HIS NEWLY MARRIED SON.

At the banquet given at the castle in celebration of the marriage of Prince August W ilhelm and Princess Alexandra Victoria of Schl«s\vig-Holstcin-Son-derburg-Ghvecksburg, the Emperor proposing the toast of the bride and bridegroom, addressed them as follows You ale about to establish your household and start Jife together. Life means work. Work means achievement Achievement signifies striving for others, for the Fatherland, for our people for our House.
After the happy hours of the first days and months you will be confronted mth the seriousness of life, with its duties, as they arc performed in our House.
You, my son, have done honour to our House with your university degree, which has opened to you a civil career' and you, my daughter, will be a helpful support to my wife in her work of charity and love."
