Grillit'hs and Co. are in receipt of the following butter market, report from their London principals, Messrs. .Mills and Sparrow, dated Nov. 13:— In the early part of the week we had a colder spell, but these conditions have passed away, and to-day it is again mild, with a fair amount of sunshine and soft rains in many places.
Danish—Unfortunately the northern markets look fright in the early part of the week, and a further drop of two kroners lias to be noted. Buyers are holding off to the last ounce, and at time of writing t'he conditions are in buvers' favor.
Siberian—A moderate, trade is passing at late rates, or iu. some cases Is to is drop, but there has not been such a drop as we have seen during the past fortnight ill Danish.
French: From all markets in France reports eome of ail unusually heavy make, anil agents are willing to meet buyers on price so as to keep clear. It is some few years .since we had such a heavy make in France.
Irish—'Here also the reports are that tlie make is much heavier than is usual at'this season of the year, the weather having been very favorable and open. Prices are also ill buyers' favor. Australian—'The small shipment pel" s.s. Victoria landed in good order, and although the few known brands cleared at good rates, anything not just up to top standard is neglected. Buyers have held off and are lighting hard for reductions all along the line, and the open, mild weather is helping them materially. New Zealand—Butters ex s.s. Tongariro opened splendidly, and are gradually clearing, but very slowly. Holders have been linn in price, but tile trade generally have ihchl off, and a reduction in most cases has to be made to induce business. One thing is very certain—■ if once a buyer takes a few boxes he is on to colonial for the season, as the quality is choice and must please. Cheese—There is active buying, but a good steady consumptive demand has been going oil all the week. Prices are unchanged. Colored are, if anything, in less supply, and in better demand than white,
