Ihe ferry steamer Frederick Davis, which was purchased on the Richmond iuvcr to run in the Melbourne service while voyuging to -Melbourne sank 30 miles sonth of Clarence Head# during heavy weather. The crew, numbering seven, landed safely in a boat in a exliuusled condition.
