SWIMMING GALA.
The New Plymouth Swimming Club open their swimming season with a night gala to-morrow (Tuesday) evening, starting at 8 p.m. As swimmers from Feilding, Hawera and Stratford are competing, as well as our local boys, this night carnival should be a great attraction to the public in general. During the evening a local champion diver will give an exhibition of the "Monte Christo" act. Other interesting items will bo given, including fancy swimming, diving etc., so patrons can depend on a rare evening's fun. Prizes have been generously donated by Messrs Tisch, SLocker, Weston, Watkins and Swansou. The following handicaps have been declared:—
