ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DROWNED IN THE AVON. Christchureh, Last Might. Charles Blomgren, of Sydney, a member of De Groen's Orchestra, at present touring with West's Pictures, was drowned in the Avon at Uurwood this afternoon. Deceased was out boating with two other members of the orchestra when the boat (a light rowing skill', with two outriggers) capsized. The other two men managed to gel ashore, but Blomgrcn sank and could not be located. The body has not yet been recovered.
RAILWAY FATALITY. Dunedin, Last Night. A fatal accident occurred on the railway at Alusscl Bay, near Port Chalmers to-night, a boy named Alex. AlcPhcrson, son of John MePherson, carpenter, of Port Chalmers, being killed. The boy was a passenger by the train from Dunedin, and jumped off before it stopped. He fell and was drawn be'neath a carriage and killed instantly. Deceased only recently started work in Dunedin.
THE NORMANBY SUICIDE. An enquiry in connection with the suicide of Agnes (I. Grant, aged 35 years, of Normanby, who shot herself by means of a pea rifle on Alondav, was held bv the District Coroner (Mr. C. E. Major) without a jury on Tuesday, and returned a verdict. That death, resulted from the effects of a bullet wound, se'finllicted during a lit of nervous depression.
