WAREA. (From Our Own Correspondent). ! A meeting of the Cape Egmont Ilorticultral Society was held iu the hall on i Friday evening. There was not a very large muster of members present, Mr. dames Burgess occupied the chair. Tlve object of the meeting was to go through last year's catalogue and to arrange ' thif> year's. The local school broke up on Friday ' for the summer holidays. The ilaxmill, which has beeu closed down for some time, has re-opened again. There is a good deal of ilax about now, there being two years' growth. The weather has been rather changeable lately, and the milk supply at the factory has started to fall, which is rath'er earlier than usual, for it does* not generally start to go down until after New Year. The record amount of butter made this year was close on 27 boxes, this number surpassing that of any 'previous year. |

! mJLFWOOD. The weather still continues in favor of the farmer, and the country is looking very fresh. All the dairy companies paid out their monthly milk cheques on Saturday and consequently business was brisk in town. The tradespeople are already beginning to decorate their business places for tlte Christmas season, and the town is, beginning to put on quite a festive appearance.
