Tallow—At the auctions 1007 casks were offered and 530 sold. There was an occasional sixptuce advance in. prices.
L. A. NOLAN & t o.'S REPORT. Messrs. L. A. Nolan & Co. report for •week ending December lfith:— Poultry.—We had a very large entry. •Over 480 birds were penned. Good 'Cable birds, goslings, and ducklings were •keenly competed for. We quote: Hens '(ordinary) Is 8d to 2s 4d, hens (fat) 12s 2d to 3s Id, cockerels (table birds) "up to 3s 2d, roosters Is 8d to 2s (id. "chickens from Od to Is 4d, ducks Is (id 'to 2s Id, ducklings up to 2s 5d each, 'turkey gobblers 6s (id to lis, turkey 'liens 3s (id to ss, geese 3s 3d to 3s 'Jd, jjosUngs 4s to 4s (id, broods ducklings ■Us, broods chickens Bs. At the mart a very large quantity 'of furniture and sundries was disposed of at satisfactory rates. Fruit.—The season is opening well, -and promises to be a very heavy one. 'We quote: Gooseberries 4s to ss, red fcurrants 7s, cherries (white) 10s (id to 'lis and (black) lis to lis lid. tomatoes Vd to Od per lb., strawberries 9d to Is '3d per lb., bananas 8s to 10s per case, new potatoes Id to IVid per lb.
WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Or, Saturday our poultry pens were overcrowded, many consignments having 'to be sold in their own boxes. Alto'getlier over 350 birds v. ere penned. •Price-, were a shade easier. We •anticipate a record entry coming on Saturday, when high prices should rule.
