A discussion on the condition of nntive affairs in India led to a free light between Hie Lascars and the Zanzibar native sections of the crew on tile I'. and 0. liner Mongolia. Several were wounded. Two were removed to tin hospital. Five were arrested. The arrests were resented by a large ; body of Lascars, who left the ship. , Climbing the dock gates they marched along the street towards the lock-up. | A ship's officer and a polio; inspector intercepted them and tried to persuade ' t them to return. Tliey declined but consented to visit the police station to' in- , terview the arrestees. On arrival at . the station they were locked in the yard. They again declined overtures to j return to the ship and were arrested.' The total arrests were 71.
