BURGLARY AT OAMARU.

On Monday night or Tuesday morning a burglary was committed at'lhe Ulem avy Hotel, the burglar cutting n panel out of the door and entering by means of the opening, and .€l2 in e'ash and postal notes were stolen. The police today arrested a man in Oninaru. The man made a dash for liberty on nearing the police station, hut was chased and re-captured. ] u " the police station the man attempted to make use of a Urge sheath knife, which was taken froTn him. Some of the postal notes were traced to the man. and finally he showed the police where he had planted the money not found on him when nrresUd. The man, whose name is Oscar (iossul alias Peter Murra, alias To Elk'r, confessed to pawning a hicyde in Oainaru stolen at Timaru.
