ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
FATALITY ON CKICKET FIELD. ' By Telegraph.-i'rto3 Association. Nelson, .Monday. A collision occurred on Saturday between two cricketers named Hull and Eban on the .Moutere Club's ground. Tile former was in a stooping position with the sun in his eyes aad Eban struck him on tile shoulder. Their heads clashed together. Hull became unconscious, but was able later on to walk half a mile to a hotel. There lie, relapsed and expired at 2 a.m. on Sunday from concussion of the brain and injury to an artery of the heart. lie was about 23 years old and was shortly to be married. If is liancec was on the ground at tile time of tile mishap.
SUDDEN DEATH. Auckland, Jlollday, A sudden death occurred at the billiard room at the Oxford Hotel, Victoria street, on Saturday night. William Harrison was walking away from the table after playing his shot when he collapsed, lie was removi'd to a sitting room. Ho appeared to revive somewhat, and, after a rest, expressed a wish to go home, lie walked out of the room with this intention, but collapsed again in the passage, lie died before medical assistance could arrive. Deceased was a single man, 70 years old. lie lived at Freeman's Bay. lie had been in very poor health for some time. He was discharged from tile hospital about two months ayo.
